You may have finally decided to update your smaller kitchen to a contemporary style, but when looking for ideas, most show spaces show a large, “over the top” area. Looking at these kitchen examples can be overwhelming and you may not realize that you can take ideas from these large spaces and fit them into your vision of a Small Contemporary Kitchen.
Most kitchen remodels include an island. This may be something you “Really” want, but space is space and if you are not willing to knock down some walls, the kitchen island can not be included in your remodeled kitchen. Now this can be the tricky part of remodeling. At times, when we really want something and space does not allow us to have it, we can get discouraged and focus on the negative and not see all the potential of your small kitchen.
A recent client of ours has a small bungalow and a small kitchen. We could not move any walls to remodel their existing space. This is a galley style kitchen (no room for an island), but we were able to give them exactly what they wanted with updated features and materials.
All of our projects begin with our design and we let our clients know what their kitchen could look like before we start our demolition.

TILE FLOORING – “OLYMPIA” 6″ X 36″ SIGNUM SERIES
“KOHLER” STAINLESS STEEL FARM STYLE SINK
Our clients newly remodeled kitchen includes a new lighting plan. We installed recessed lighting along the perimeter of their space and a semi-flush light along with under cabinet lighting. Their flooring has the look of wood, but with the durability of ceramic tile. Quartz counters are stain and heat resistant and are non-porous. The glass backsplash tile is easy to clean and will look terrific for many years. A stainless steel farm style sink and pull- out garbage/recycle complete this small contemporary kitchen.
